Weekly weather update:26.1.15

NADRAKI-BANNER.jpg

Mostly cloudy and humid weather prevailed over the west this past week. Scattered showers with some heavier falls and thunderstorm were evident, with large variations around the region. This was mainly due to an active SPCZ just to the south and west of Fiji which moved over Viti Levu early this week.

Nadi reported a weekly accumulation of 107mm while the highest 24 hour accumulation was 60mm for Nacocolevu on 15th January. Some minor flash flooding of low lying areas was reported.

Fine and sunny this weekend with just the odd showers about the main islands. Otherwise, no sign of any major weather systems on the horizon.
