Fiji Airways Advises Flight Disruptions as a Result

May 17, 2015. Fiji Airways has today advised that one of its A330-200 aircraft will undergo required repair work after an unforeseeable tarmac incident on Saturday night. The aircraft, which was preparing to depart for Los Angeles from Nadi was hit by ground handling equipment, operated by ground handling company ATS. As a result of the impact, Fiji Airways took the aircraft out of service. The aircraft will now undertake the required repair before it is made available for service.

Stefan Pichler, Fiji Airways Board Director stated: “We’re obviously very disappointed that this has happened. This incident will be extremely costly and we’re working hard on two fronts; to ensure that the aircraft is fixed and returned to service as soon as possible, and to manage our passengers affected by the resulting disruptions to our network. The incident was beyond our control and we share the frustrations of our customers and apologise to them.”

Customers flying on Fiji Airways this week may encounter delays or schedule changes, as the airline works to minimise the impact of the incident. Customers are requested to call Fiji Airways Reservations on 6720888 or 3304388, or visit this page on the website: http://www.fijiairways.com/flight-information/travel-alerts/
