His Excellency Abdul Malik Abdullah, the non-resident ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, made his farewell courtesy call on Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday, 25 March.
During the meeting, the two made a serious commitment to fast track a double taxation avoidance agreement between Fiji and Pakistan.
The Attorney-General said that such an agreement would unlock Pakistan’s potential as a source-market of raw materials for the Fijian garment industry amongst a number of other benefits.
The Attorney-General also took the opportunity to brief the ambassador on Fiji’s progress toward the 2014 General Election.
