One of the highest ranking local government officials in the western division has been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning in death.
Praveen Bala who is the special administrator of Lautoka, Ba and Tavua has appeared before magistrate Peni Dalituicama.
Mr Bala is alleged to have hit a pedestrian in the king’s highway last week.
He was bailed for a sum of $1,500 and will reappear in court on December 3.
