Bowling carnival heats up in Nadi

The Nadi Sports and Social Club is a hive of activity as the annual Shop N Save Sunny West Bowling carnival is well underway entering its third day today.

The teams that look in strong contention are Fiji rep Semesa Naiseruvati’s team which consists of Australians Graeme Kath and Steve Rice together with Rick Eyre.

Another Fiji Rep Abdul Kalim is also in contention who has teamed up with Som Padayachi, Keegan Jaduram and Kushal from the Sheraton Club.

Young Eminoni Turagabeci from the Vatukoula Bowling club is also making a strong charge for the title with Jare Josaia and overseas players Marica and Tom Reynolds.

The fours semi-finals and finals will be played on today (Sunday) as all quarter final matches have now been completed.

Major upset was the defeat of Semesa Naiseruvati’s team consisting of Australians Graeme Kath and Steve Rice together with Rick Eyre who went down to Munesh Kumar’s team consisting of Bobby Prasad and former Fiji Residents Phyl and John Morrisson.

Other qualifiers for the main competition are Victor Ramlu’s team from Lautoka, Abdul Kalims team and Eric Williams Team.

On Monday the pairs starts and finishes on Wednesday.

  • This year we have a total of 28 overseas bowlers which is increasing year on year. There are nine year International bowlers
  • We have overseas bowlers that have been coming every year for the last 6 years

  • Williams and Gosling and Islands Electric are our Local Minor sponsors
  • Offshore Minor sponsors are Graeme and Kerry Kath, Eric Williams and Spencer Tate
