Cama to watch from the sideline at the Hong Kong 7s

IRB 7s player of the year, Tomasi Cama will be watching from the sideline at this upcoming Hong Kong 7s, after being ruled out with an injury.

Speaking to The Jet Newspaper, Cama said this will be a whole new challenge.

“Obviously it’s tough not to be part of the team to play, I love playing in Hong Kong and it’s my favourite tournament in the series other than Wellington. It’s going to be different watching from the sideline but I am looking forward to this new challenge,” he said.

Cama will be travelling with the team to the happy valley as assistant coach.

“I’m injured at the moment, but to still travel with the team as assistant coach is a huge honor and very humbling, and I’m not too sure if it has happen in the past, for an injured player to take this role,” he said.

NZ is in pool B with USA, France and Kenya.

The Hong Kong 7s will kick off next Friday.
