Cricket Fiji Announce 18 Squad

Cricket Fiji has selected its 18 member preliminary squad that will prepare for the all important ICC World Cricket League Division 7 Tournament in Botswana.

The tournament which will be the last of its kind will be played in Gaborone, Botswana from the 4th to the 14th of April with the top 2 teams advancing to the next stage of qualifiers.

The national side will once again be coached by Joeli Mateyawa who managed to improve the sides performance in the recent EAP T20 Tournament in Auckland where the side finished 3rd compared to 5th the tournament before.

“The core of the squad from the Auckland tournament have been retained and with the return of the 4 military players who weren’t able to make the trip to Auckland, the side will be well prepared to represent the country”, Cricket Fiji High Performance Manager, Joe Rika.

The final 14 that will travel to Botswana will be selected next week before the side leaves for Botswana on the 27th of March for a week of preparation.
