Delegates Arrive ahead of Police Commissioner’s Conference

Assistant Commissioner Henry Brown welcomes Vanuatu’s Police Commissioner Mr Arthur C. Edmanley ahead of the 4th MSG Police Commissioner’s Conference on Monday.

Vanuatu’s Police Commissioner Mr Arthur C. Edmanley and his delegation arrived into the country this morning ahead of the 4th Melanesian Spearhead Group Police Commissioners Conference (PCC) on Monday.

The two day conference will be held on Monday at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.

The PCC’s last annual meeting was in November 2012 in Papua New Guinea and this was followed by a Special Meeting in Vanuatu in May 2013.

Issues expected to be discussed include the Formed Police Unit (FPU), Regional Police Academy (RPA) and the Department of Peace Keeping Operations (DPKO) initiatives.

The meeting will also look at how the respective MSG Governments can enhance regional security cooperation arrangements.

The Police Commissioner’s from Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea will be arriving into the country later this evening.
