DRUG BUST

Police in Navosa uprooted 42 plants believed to be marijuana with height ranging from 80cm to 2.4 m. Upon information Officers proceeded to Naboro Creek in Bemana Navosa and uprooted the said plants on Tuesday (18/02/14).

Also on Tuesday in a separate incident Police Officers in Sabeto uprooted four plants believed to be marijuana with height ranging from 1.17m to 1.95m.The Police raided the house of 46 year old Savalau farmer and uprooted the plants in his compound.

In Ovalau, Police raided a house of a 40 year old of Baba settlement and found five branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.  Yesterday Police raided the house and also found 48 plants in four different containers ranging from 3-7 cm in height.

In a separate incident, Navua Police Officers yesterday uprooted two plants believed to be marijuana at Solo Farm.

Also yesterday, Labasa Police Officers searched the house of a 27 year old farmer of Kilikoso and found dried leaves weighing 500g in his possession. Suspects of the above were arrested, interviewed and released while the leaves have been sent to Koronivia for analysis.
