Fiji Airways Awards $0.7m IT Contract to Local Company

Friday, 15th November 2013: Fiji Airways has today announced that local Information Technology company Office Products has been awarded an IT contract worth F$700,000.

The highly sought after contract was awarded after a tender process, where seven local and five overseas-based suppliers made submissions. The contract is for the provision of 355 Dell computers and monitors to replace the current IT equipment of Fiji Airways.

Stefan Pichler, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO commented: “Wherever economically feasible, we ensure that we prioritise Fijian companies for provision of products and services which meet our standards and requirements. As one of Fiji’s largest companies with numerous procurement needs, we are well poised to ensure that Fijian vendors grow with us. Our IT team thoroughly assessed all tenders and recommended Office Products on merit.”

He added: “A key component of our four-pillar strategy is to provide job and career opportunities for Fijians. We have now extended that commitment by giving other Fijian companies more business opportunities which will help them grow. This is our preference.”

Dennis Fong, CEO of Office Products said: “We’re delighted to come out on top of the tender process, and of course extremely happy to be awarded a contract of this magnitude. We thank Fiji Airways for having faith in the ability of local companies like Office Products to deliver world class service and support infrastructure. “
