FIJI NATIONAL SPORTS COMMISSION SUPPORT KARATE

Last week the Fiji National Sports Commission provided a timely boost to Karate Fiji. Two cheques were handed over to Seremaia Tuqiri the vice president of Karate Fiji underlining FNSC’s ongoing support of minority sports.

The first cheque totalled $23,050; this grant was to assist Karate Fiji with the hosting of the 2014 Oceania Karate Championships and preparation costs for the 2014 World Senior Karate Championships. The second cheque for a further $3250 was allocated to assist Karate Fiji with the engagement of Sensei Tony Hails from Australia to assist with their development program and national team members..

FNSC CEO Peter Mazey upon handing over the cheques stated: – “We are delighted to see Karate Fiji hosting the upcoming Oceania Championships and we wish them all the best for their preparations for the 2014 World Senior Karate Championships.”
