Yaqara Serious Accident
The driver of the rental car who was reported to be in critical condition was airlifted to Australia yesterday morning. The passenger of the same vehicle was discharged for further treatment in New Zealand.
Meanwhile the driver of the Government vehicle who is alleged to have caused the accident after hitting a cow and later colliding with the rental vehicle remains admitted at the Tavua Hospital in stable condition.
He will be interviewed once he is discharged from hospital.
Fire
An officer at the Nawaicoba Community Post managed to contain a fire that started from within the premises.
The incident occurred at about 2320hrs and the Post Officer managed to put out the fire with buckets of water, preventing it from spreading to other rooms.
A few of the inventories were partly destroyed and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of fire.
