Fiji sneaks a win to the Bowl Final

Digicel Fiji 7s team managed to sneak a win against France after being awarded two yellow cards in the Bowl Semifinal, 19-17.

First yellow card was awarded to Ilai Tinai in the first half for throwing a punch towards his France opponent, second yellow card was awarded to Captain Setefano Cakau for high tackle.

It wasn’t a good start for the boys, when Julian Candelon scored the opening try for France, 5-0.

Fiji bounced back as Nemani Nagusa helped set up try for Joji Raqamate, followed by a conversion, 5-7.

France’s Candelon scored another to hep their side stretched their lead in halftime, 12-7.

Paul Albaladejo helped their France side extend their lead by scoring the opening try, 17-7.

Joji Raqamate blistered his way through the French side and Sprinted his way to score a try under the post, 17-14.

It was then after final hooter when debutant and DAV school teacher Benito Masilevu scored the final try to seal their win.

Fiji will now face Canada in the Bowl Final at 7.00pm today.
