Fiji to take heed of simple mistakes: Vucago

Former national 7s player Emosi Vucago says the performance of the boys was good but there was still a lot needed to be done after their win against England, 26-17.

Our reporter, Janesh Chand was joined by former national 7s player, Emosi Vucago who said Fiji should take heed of simple mistakes.

“The win was good but a lot is needed to be done, simple errors could have cost us the game,” he said.

Captain Setefano Cakau led their side by scoring the opening try, followed by conversion from Joji Raqamte, 7-0.

England bounced back with a try from Dan Norton, 7-5.

Fiji stretched their lead at half time with Samisoni Viriviri scoring two consecutive tries, 21-5.

England’s Christian Patt scored the opening try for second half, 21-10.

Joji Raqamate was issued a yellow card in the third minute, which cost us a try from England’s John Blake, 21-17.

Benito Masilevu sealed the win for Fiji by scoring the last try, 26- 17.

Fiji will then play  Scotland at 3.18pm today.
