FIJI TOUCH RUGBY TEAM PRESENTS FAREWELL TO the HEAD OF STATE

The Fiji Rugby Touch team that will compete in the Federation of International (FIT) Touch World Cup tournament presented their iTatau or farewell today to His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

In congratulating the Fiji team for qualifying for the tournament, the Head of State wished them well as Fiji’s sports ambassadors to the sporting event which takes place in Sydney, Australia.

“Representing your country in whatever sport is the biggest achievement you can have. On behalf of all the people of Fiji, friends and parents, I wish you well and all the best,” His Excellency said.

“If you have been training and preparing well, then you should all perform well for your country. There will be a lot of supporters but don’t get distracted. Your aim is to fulfill the task and do Fiji proud.”

The team comprising of six categories (Team Women, Team 40s, Team 30s, Team 35s, Mix and Men’s Open) will leave for Australia this week.

The Federation of International Touch (FIT) Touch World Cup tournament begins on April 29 and ends on May 3 at Coffs Harbour in Sydney.
