FIJI WILL BE REPRESENTED AT THE IOA INTERNATIONAL SESSION FOR YOUNG PARTICIPANTS IN GREECE

CAPTION:  Ms Pratt receiving the IOC’s Sport for Social Responsibilities Award at FASANOC’s Annual Assembly in March.  She accepted the award, as a former STOP HIV Champion, on behalf of FASANOC’s STOP HIV program.

Fiji will be represented by Miss Leena Pratt at the International Olympic Academy International Session for Young Participants.  Ms Pratt was nominated as a member of the FASANOC Athletes Commission and a national representative in the sport of Triathlon.

The IOA Session will be held this week, from 11-25 June in the city of Olympia, in Greece where the main topic of the Session is  “Olympic Legacy” with a  Special Topic  “Olympic Legacy: The empowerment of Olympism through Youth”. 

Participants must be aged 20 to 35 years old and should have shown a special interest in the aims of the IOA, as well as in current issues of Olympism.

Also representing Oceania will be Ms Tebataua Karoutu from Kiribati. Funding for both these young  participants is being provided by Women in Sport Oceania and Olympic Solidarity.
