The new non-resident Ambassador of Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Fiji, Mr Nguyen Viet Dung today presented his letters of credential at Government House to His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

Mr Dung is a career diplomat and his tertiary qualifications include a Bachelors of International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy, Ha Noi.

He has undergone management training from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration.

Mr Dung began his diplomatic career as the desk officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam and moved up the ranks.

He has represented his country in Canada and was the Director General at Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to his diplomatic appointment.

The new non-resident ambassador will be based in New Zealand.
