FIJIAN PRESIDENT VISIT PATIENTS AT WAINIBOKASI HOSPITAL

His Excellency the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, today began a series of visits to hospitals in the Central Division as part of his yearly Christmas visitations.

Patients and staff at the Wainibokasi hospital were pleasantly surprised to see the head of state personally wish each individual his well wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

Mereoni Vanualele of Nakelo, Tailevu who was at the Wainibokasi hospital said she was humbled and honoured to have met the head of State this morning.

“This is the first time for me to see the President in person and I am pleased that he has come to visit us,” Mrs Vanualele said.

“Despite the unfavourable weather conditions today, the President’s presence here in Wainibokasi this morning is indeed humbling.”

The head of state also visited the Nausori Maternity Unit and the Tailevu Sub-Divisional hospital in Korovou.

Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Tailevu, Dr Daniel Faktaufon said that President Nailatikau’s visit was also a boost to his staff especially with Christmas just a week away

“The President’s visit has indeed boosted the morale of the staff and we are excited to see him,” Dr Faktaufon said.

“It’s been a pleasure and an honour to see him visiting the patients”.
