Fijiana coach, Elenoa Kunatuba was impressed with the turn out and performance of the players during their second fitness test at the HPU Gym yesterday.
“I am really satisfied with the performance what the players were showing during the fitness test,” Kunatuba said.
Kunatuba also said among the 15 players that were present at the Gym, were eight players who were attached with the Anhui provincial club in China that is being coached by former national sevens rep and Coach Tomasi Cama.
The players are; Rusila Tamoi, Rusila Nagasau, Lavenia Tinai, Josivini Gusuivalu, Timaima Ravisa, Asinate Sevu, Litia Naigato and Viniama Riwai.
“I’m thankful to Anhui province and Tomasi Cama for helping the players out. They have improved on their fitness and they have learnt a lot of technical skills. I’m quite happy that they are because they were the missing puzzle to our preparations,” Kunatuba said.
She said with only five weeks left for the China leg of the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series, there were just a few more areas that still needed improvement.
“The series was a build-up for the team to the bigger event which was the Women’s Rugby World Cup 7s that would be held in Moscow, Russia,” Kunatuba said.
