Fiji’s First Bollywood Superstar Search Kicks Off

14th of May, 2014- This week local production firm Productions Pacific Limited announced a partnership with Digicel to start the search for Fiji’s next Bollywood Superstar. With auditions in Lautoka and Suva, the nation’s best talent is expected to turn out to see if they have what it takes to make it to the glowing screens and glittering lights of Bollywood.

Two stars will be selected from the Superstar Search, who will secure a featured extra role in a Bollywood movie to be filmed in Fiji later this year.  In addition they will receive media training and development and will be cast in leading roles in Digicel advertising campaigns throughout the next year.

Productions Pacific leads the first official Bollywood Superstar Search in Fiji with the assistance of Moving Pictures and Digicel Fiji. Managing Director of Productions Pacific Ms. Lailun Khan has been involved in facilitating five Bollywood movies filmed in Fiji including; 3G, Table 21, Warning, Supermodels and AamaliThamuli. In addition, Productions Pacific are currently working on a production scheduled to commence in late June but cannot release any details at present.  Commenting from her Suva office Ms. Khan said “I am thrilled to be able to offer more Fijian talent an opportunity to share the stage with top Bollywood talent. This star search gives Fiji the opportunity to demonstrate that we are a serious destination for filming Bollywood movies”.  Digicel Chief Financial Officer Farid Mohammed added “this is a unique opportunity for a talented Fijian to appear in a genuine Bollywood movie to be filmed right here in Fiji”. 

The Bollywood Superstar Search has auditions scheduled in Lautoka on the 24th of May and in Suva on the 31st of May. All Fijians male and female aged 18- 80 years are encouraged to audition for the position. Aspiring performers can call 7700077 for VIP registration. Only the first 500 to register in each location will be auditioned.
