Fire destroys house in Nadi

National Fire Authority (NFA) is again reminding the members of the community to take extra care.

A  fire incident at Togomasi in Nadi yesterday resulted in a family losing all their belongings after their two bedroom house made up of corrugated iron and timber was destroyed by fire.

NFA Nadi received the fire emergency call at 1025hrs and immediately responded. Upon arrival at 1035hrs, the fire crew saw the house fully engulfed in flames.

The fire crew were able to extinguish the fire.NFA investigations are underway to determine the cause of this fire incident.

The NFA is again calling for people to take extra care and consider fire as a major risk to their family.

NFA CEO, John O’Connor, advises people to identify and mitigate possible causes of fire.

“NFA continues to urge and plead with members of the community to please take heed of our advice and exercise care within their homes to avoid property fires”, Mr O’Connor said.
