Two families have lost their homes in separate fire incidents in the last 48 hours.
Police have confirmed that the first incident occurred at Naivicula Village, Wainibuka when a home belonging to a 31 year old farmer was completely destroyed in a fire.
The victim’s home is located approximately 200meters away from the village and the estimated cost of damage is $3,000.
The cause of fire is yet to be determined.
The second case of fire was reported at the Digiyaga Settlement in Dreketi at 1am where a home belonging to a 65 year old laborer was completely destroyed.
Police say that the house was vacant at the time of the incident and the cost of damage is estimated at $20,000.
Investigations into both cases continue .
