FIVB referee assists Fiji Volleyball

The Fiji Volleyball Federation organized a “Volleyball Referees Clinic” on Saturday 12th April at the FASANOC office. The clinic was attended by 25 participants from various volleyball associations including the Central Eastern and Western Division. The course was conducted by FIVB international referee Phong Nguyen who is currently in the country to assist our local referees and conduct clinics in various selected locations in the country.

Mr Phong Nguyen has been an Australian Referee since 1998, progressing through the Australian referee pathway receiving the Bob Foot award in 2000 and was confirmed as a FIVB international referee in 2005 after successfully completing his International referee course in 2004.

Phong will be also assisting Fiji Volleyball Federation in this weekend’s Easter Volleyball Championship to be held at the National Gymnasium in Suva this weekend.

FVF President Elesi Ketedromo stated that they were fortunate to have Mr Nyuyen to assist the federation in upgrading the skills and knowledge of our local volleyball referees. Ms Ketedromo also acknowledged government assistance though the Fiji National Sports Commission in funding their clinics around the country.
