Former Black Caps captain to be chief guest at Cricket event

Cricket Fiji is pleased to announce that Former Black Caps Captain Daniel Vettori will be chief guest at an event held by Cricket Fiji on August 29.

His visit to Fiji as an ambassador for Fred Hollows foundation, one which works on restoring sight and end avoidable blindness coincides with the Melbourne Cricket Club tour to Fiji to which he has agreed to be a part of on the mentioned date.

Cricket Fiji chief executive officer InokeLesuma said it is a wonderful opportunity for CF to have the former Black Caps and great all-rounder  Mr.Vettori

“Cricket Fiji will definitely make use of this opportunity to create more awareness on cricket with the legendary all-rounder,” he said.

Vettori is the eighth player in Test history to take 300 wickets and score 3,000 runs. He is the youngest player to have represented New Zealand in Test cricket. He has led New Zealand in 11 games, winning eight of them.
