The Health Minister, Dr Neil Sharma (pictured above), has ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of an 18-year old Nasinu youth at the CWM Hospital on Wednesday.
The family of Lawrence Anthony says they was told by hospital staff that their son was “doing well” but some three hours later, received a phone call to say that he had died.
Dr Sharma said he had directed hospital staff to provide a full explanation of what had happened and would relay this to the family personally once the investigation was complete.
“I can fully understand the pain that Lawrence’s parents, other family members and his friends must feel. They deserve an explanation and they will get it. In the meantime, I extend my deepest sympathy to them for their terrible loss”.
