Significant renovation to include updated guest rooms, public spaces and pool deck.

The FNPF Hotel Resorts Limited (FHRL) is proud to announce that it has embarked on a significant renovation of its iconic Hotel, the Holiday Inn Suva. The Holiday Inn was acquired by the FHRL (a subsidiary company of the Fiji National Provident Fund) in 2005.

The Hotel is managed by the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) under its Holiday Inn brand. The Hotel is set to have a modern makeover with a significant refurbishment of the historic property. The work which commences today is set to be completed by July 2016 and will give the hotel a completely revitalised look with planned refurbishment of the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, and façade, food and beverage outlets.

The project will be undertaken by Pacific Building Solutions (PBS) that was selected after a robust public tender process. As part of the refurbishment, all room furnishings will be upgraded to create a light and contemporary feel with a high quality finish, promising to provide guests with a fresh and comfortable stay.

The en-suite upgrade for the rooms will guarantee a heightened guest room experience. The new look hotel will also provide patrons with a fresh new pool deck, enabling guests to relax in their home away from home and be marvelled by the sunset over the Suva Harbour.

Mr Jaoji Koroi, FNPF Chief Investment Officer, said “this project is part of the on-going rehabilitation process undertaken by the Fund to improve the value of its investments. “Recent examples of such rehabilitation includes the Grand Pacific Hotel, the Momi Bay project, demolition and re-development of the Greig Street project, and the re-development of the Nadi property.

The renovation of the Holiday Inn is also part of the upgrading of the foreshore precinct, which included the restoration of the Grand Pacific Hotel to its current status. The renovation will be carried out in stages, one wing at a time, commencing with the North Wing, with the Hotel remaining fully operational during this period. Hotel guests will experience minimal disruption during the renovation period, as work will take place Monday to Saturday between the hours of 9:00am and 5.00pm. Preston Miskelly, General Manager, Holiday Inn Suva, said “The Holiday Inn brand is renowned for making guests feel comfortable by providing a familiar, modern and fresh experience.

Holiday Inn Suva has been part of Suva’s business community since March, 2001 and we are excited we have the privilege of unveiling these new products for our loyal guests. “Since Holiday Inn’s arrival in Suva’s hotel market, we have been renowned for our great service, friendly staff and delivering the ‘home away from home’ experience for our corporate travellers. “We are looking forward to being able to debut the first set of rooms with our fresh new look later this year which will help to cement Holiday Inn Suva as the preferred choice for locals and visitors to Suva for many more years to come.”
