(NATADOLA, FIJI) 27 November 2014 – InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is delighted to roll out a contemporary menu at poolside restaurant, Toba Bar & Grill.  The new menu features local ingredients prepared with a unique American and Italian twist in a relaxed setting overlooking the crystal waters of Natadola Bay.

The menu is a share concept, encouraging guests to interact more while enjoying a meal in a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for the ultimate casual dining experience.  The choice to reflect American and Italian cuisine is because they are approachable and suits guests of all ages.

“Our exciting and delicious menu not only features fresh produce at its best, inspired by heartwarming, Italian/American cuisine, but also includes some amazing new dishes to keep our talented chefs well and truly challenged,” says Nicolas de Visch, Executive Chef at the InterContinental Fiji.  “Eight of our chefs recently competed in the national Moffat Culinaire Competition and cemented our status as one of the best culinary offerings in Fiji.”

“Discover exciting signature dishes such as our meatball spaghetti which has an element of surprise!” added Chef Nicolas.  “Other signature items on the menu include our chicken parmigiano, which has a balance of flavours where the acidity of the parmesan cheese melting inside the chicken breast enhances the flavor of the meat to a whole new level; and our calzone bianca pizza – a unique traditional folded pizza that’s bursting with flavours.”

“No menu is complete without dessert!  We’re introducing new cheesecakes to the menu,” adds Chef Nicolas.  “My favourite is the mango key lime cheesecake – the tartness with the smooth texture of cream cheese just melts heavenly in your mouth.”

“The new menu elevates our dining experiences at the resort with Toba as the only restaurant offering quality American/Italian cuisine.  We also still offer local favourites such as kokoda and our vakalolo hotpot at our other dining outlets,” said Akira Tanaka, InterContinental Fiji’s Director of Dining & Entertainment. “What’s unique for Toba is the larger portions and the share concept from which guests can share and indulge in what we have to offer.”

The Toba Bar & Grill features a wide range of casual dining options including pizzas, sandwiches, decadent desserts and signature cocktails.
