October 11, 2015. As the Fiji International kicks off at the picturesque Natadola Bay Championship Golf Club this week it’s not just the Pros out having a hit.

With tournament week officially commencing today, over 60 local children descended on Natadola Bay for a kids’ golf clinic with PGA Tour of Australasia regulars, Daniel Valente, Ben Wharton and Sam Eaves, who came along to lend a hand and to show local juniors what golf is all about.

“It’s great to see that the PGA have initiatives for kids, when I was a kid I would have loved it,” said Valente.

“You see the smiles on their faces when you give them a tip, they love being outdoors and being involved in something they don’t do everyday, it’s really great to see.”

However, while these young Fijians have fallen in love with the game of golf, they still hold rugby and their nations game close to their hearts.

Today’s clinic also saw a special appearance by Fiji Rugby 7s stars, Osea Kolinisau and Emosi Mulevoro, together with their coach and Brand Ambassador for the Fiji International, Ben Ryan.

The trio spent time with the kids before a signature session, where each child was able to have a Fiji International poster signed by their Rugby idols.

Make sure you are at the Fiji International to support your fellow Fijians as they take on the best players in the world.

Among the 154 Professionals teeing it up this week’s tournament will be seven Fijians including Major winner and local hero, Vijay Singh.

Purchase your ticket from a TOTAL Service Station before the tournament for xxx or on the gate at the Fiji International for $20.

The Fiji International will be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Club from the 15th – 18th October and will be broadcast internationally on FoxSports.
