Public advisory

A landslide above a culvert along Namuamua road in Namosi t has taken out half the width of the road. As a result and as a precautionary measure, the Fiji Roads Authority has issued an approval to close the road.

FRA Contractors, Fulton Hogan Hiways Joint Venture (FHHJV) and Engineers from MWH Global  have visited the site and have drawn up temporary and permanent solutions for this site. The crew from FHHJV will commence temporary reinstatement work  in  the coming week.

As a result of this closure, the 3 villages of Nakavika, Vunidavo and Wainiyavu will be impacted by this road closure and we ask that the public plan their trips in and around the area and to contact Fiji Roads Authority if they have any queries.

At this point in time it is estimated is that it will take a week to construct temporary access and this is planned to be carried out by the 10th of January 2015.
