Lautoka Secondary Schools’ Cricket Tournament continues tomorrow

The Lautoka Secondary Schools’ Cricket Tournament continues tomorrow at the Central College grounds.

Central College will take on Tilak High School at 9am, and following the conclusion of this match, Tilak will then face Natabua High School.

In 2013 there are four schools participating in the Lautoka Secondary Schools’ Cricket Tournament; Central College, Tilak High School, Natabua High School, and Pundit Vishnu Deo Memorial College, who we welcome to the Tournament for the first time this year.  Cricket Fiji is excited about the prospect of this growing competition, and the opportunity it gives to budding young cricketer’s to play in a regular, competitive format.

This is week two of the six-week competition, in which the four participating teams will play six 20-over games.  At the conclusion of this six-week period, the top two ranked teams will play-off in the District Final.

In week one of competition, Natuba easily beat Central by eight wickets, achieving the required total of 56 runs in 14.2 overs.  Vaibhar was dangerous with the ball, taking 5 wickets for just 6 runs.

In the other match held last weekend, Tilak also have a comfortable victory over Pundit Vishnu Deo, taking out the match by 5 wickets.
