MEETING WITH BRED BANK SENIOR OFFICIALS

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today met with senior officials of the BRED Bank in Paris, France to look at areas of increasing banking investments in Fiji.

The Prime Minister was received by the Bank’s General Secretary Mr M Devilder,  its Finance Director Mr Lendrevie, and Bank Director Mr Jaouen who discussed with the Prime Minister plans to further expand operation into the Fiji market.

The head of government who also holds the ministerial Finance portfolio welcomed the move and confidence by BRED bank to grow their operations and highlighted government’s own commitment towards increasing foreign investment on the local front including those from the banking sector. The Prime Minister also commended BRED Bank’s approach towards customer oriented services focusing on assisting the people of Fiji in areas of banking services.

The establishment of an overseas bank especially from Europe will build Fiji’s capacity to hub overseas financial institutions here in the region.
