Sunday 12th May marked mother’s day and the mothers at the Golden Age were also treated on this day with love and respect. The members of the board of visitors together with Soroptimist International Lautoka members provided morning tea, gifted each of the female residents and provided them with much needed companionship. SI Lautoka organised a big spread of sweets, savouries and mother’s day cake.  They also pinned corsage on every female resident.

The mothers at the home were overjoyed with this kind gesture, however, many shed tears as they remembered their loved ones. The delights were served to the residents by the SI Lautoka members. The members of SI Lautoka stayed back to spend some quality time with the residents on day they needed companionship the most.GAH 1

The secretary to the board, Rajneesh Charan told the mothers at home that “you are very fortunate to have so many people who love and care for you. We all are your children and love you as much as we would love our own mothers”

The board is really thankful to organisations such as Soroptimist International for coming forward in helping in board’s initiative to bring happiness to the residents.

The Board continues to prepare for the annual fundraising dinner on the 25th of May 2013. So far we have received great support from the individuals and corporate organisations. We are hoping to sell all tables and have a very successful fundraising.
