Neekita makes her way to be Miss Universe NZ

Yet another milestone in the history of Fijian talent; a former Fijian paving her way towards her dream. Born In Fiji and moved to New Zealand in 1997 growing up to be a Kiwi, Neekita Naidu is one of the top 20 finalists of the 2013 Miss Universe New Zealand.

Ms Naidu who is a full time Wholesale travel consultant, likes to do a little bit of everything like; dancing, cooking, meeting new people and obviously travelling her dream is to see as many countries in the world as she can.

“I realized at a young age that nothing else would make me experience life more intensely. There is so much to see in this world meeting people from all walks of life has definitely changed my perception in living and made me more of a open-minded person,” Ms Neekita Naidu said.

“My Ambition is to make my mark in this industry and reach the top and win this competition to represent New Zealand at the International Stage of Miss Universe in Moscow ,” Ms Naidu added.

Been discovered by a photographer in a mall one day she thought why not giving it a go and started her modeling career, having done major corporate events, Lots of modeling work, runway shows, TV commercials.

“This work has definitely bought me recognition and offers keep rolling in but have to juggle as I work full time but I am a self-made independent woman and strive to succeed in whatever path I choose. For now, my goal is to win and be the Next Miss universe New Zealand,” the finalist said.

She said the experience in the journey has been overwhelming so far From day one of bootcamp till today, Top 20 Finalists been treated to a trip away to Thailand to do a official swimwear photo shoot.

Ms Naidu has been taught and skilled by some of the very talented people in the industry, with her Make-up given by Evana Patterson, Miss Universe NZ National Director and New Zealand makeup artist for Max Factor, A presentation on Fashion by a leading New Zealand stylist.

The shooting of her Headshots by renowned photographer Vanessa Wood (Suede Studios) A TV/Media workshop presented by Nigel Godfrey, one of New Zealand’s most experienced TV Producers and Directors, Catwalk and photo-shoot training presented by leading NZ choreographer, Emma McLachlan from Diamond Dance (X Factor choreographer) AND former title holders of Miss New Zealand.

She says that a lot more is to learn final in the week of which will be in Auckland from 26 September till  13 – 6th October.

The Red Carpet Gala Final will take place at SKY City on October 5, it is going to be a packed night with a ‘Purple Carpet’ more celebrities than you can poke a stick at – top line entertainment, including from X Factor – Gap 5 and Maaka Fiso, Tim Beveridge and that’s just naming 3 with a lot to name from.

Meanwhile, the overall winner will win a brand new Suzuki scooter, and will sign up with top model agency Nova Models along with a variety of amazing prizes.
