NEW APPOINTMENTS TO ENSURE CONTINUITY OF FIJI SUGAR CANE INDUSTRY

New appointments have been made to ensure continuity in the functions of two important entities in the Fiji Sugar Cane Industry.

Permanent Secretary for Sugar, Lieutenant Colonel Manasa Vaniqi has been appointed interim chairman of the Sugar Cane Growers Fund and Mr Abdul Khan, the executive chairman of FSC, has been appointed interim chairman of the South Pacific Fertilizers.

The appointments come following the retirement of Mr John May who has reached the mandatory retirement age of 75 years as governed under the Companies Act.

The appointments came into effect as of Monday 14th October, 2013.
