NEW MOTO BRIDGE BRINGS HOPE TO THE PEOPLE OF BA

The newly built Moto Bridge in Ba is an example of the Bainimarama government and its commitment to improve infrastructure and development of rural communities throughout Fiji.

The Moto bridge, located in Ba in the Western division has become a lifeline to more than 10,000 people.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday officially opened the new Moto Bridge and Moto Road in Ba.

“The bridge itself is a link in a major supply route for sugar came to the Rarawai Mill, and the crossings unreliability dealt a big blow to the industry,” said Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

The Prime Minister also stated that the bridge also provided access children and people to work and school.

The Prime Minister also took time to thank all those involved in the making of the bridge in which he also thanked the Exim Bank of China for providing the loan to finance the development and the China Railway First Group for completing the construction on the bridge.

Ba Advisory Councilor Mr. Viam Pillay said residents had gone through a lot of difficulty as a result of the washing away of the bridge from these floods. He says that the people have very thankful of the government for the early call from the people of Moto.

Mr Viam said that the Moto area covers , Moto, Nadrau, Kumkum, Vatusui, Naruku, Toge, Balevutu, Nukuloa back road which is inhabited by more than 10,000 people.

Meanwhile, now the people of Moto will have access to full bus services and be able to get their lives back on track as usual.
