NORTH SCHOOLS TO IMPLEMENT mEDUCATION

The Ministry of Education, National Heritage, Culture and Arts permanent secretary, Dr Brij Lal received mEducation sets from the Vodafone’s ATH Fiji Foundation’s mEducation team today.

They will be delivered to primary schools in Vanua Levu.

mEducation is a Mobile for Good Programme that uses our technology and network to empower students and teachers with the necessary tools to make a difference in their life, their families, their communities and most importantly, to the nation.

The mEducation sets have now reached 35 primary schools in Fiji benefitting more than 9,000 students.

“This initiative and donation by Vodafone’s ATH Fiji Foundation is commended and we at the Ministry of Education are very appreciative,” Dr Lal said.

“The ministry this year is focused on the promotion of e-learning and computer education in our schools. This assistance is a timely one complementing the direction taken by the ministry in the widening of technological education for our schools.”

The mEducation set comprise an internet accesing web-box, a computer screen, VGA converter, connectors and speakers. This kind of technology will help empower teachers and students to access relevant and updated information for learning.
