OPERATION GRAPPLE TASKFORCE TO CONDUCT VERIFICATION PROCESS FOR CHRISTMAS VETERANS SECOND PAYOUT

The Task Force on Operation Grapple announced that the second phase of registration for legal dependents known as Priority Two (P-2) would conduct its verification process this week.

The Taskforce has being tasked to thoroughly verify individual claims prior to payment of assistance to veterans of the Christmas Island nuclear tests.

The verification process will begin at the Civic centre in Suva tomorrow, Office of the Roko Tui Tailevu on Wednesday and at the Office of the Roko Tui Naitasiri, Vunidawa on Thursday.

The taskforce has requested that the following documents be produced during the verification process:

VETERAN’S SPOUSE STILL ALIVE

  • Death certificate of Veteran
  • Marriage certificate
  • Birth Certificate of spouse
  • Birth Certificates of siblings

VETERAN AND SPOUSE DEMISED

  • Death certificates of Veteran and Spouse
  • Marriage certificate
  • Birth Certificates of siblings (Children)

The taskforce will also visit the North, West and Eastern Divisions later and the public is requested to contact the nearest office of the Roko Tui and Assistant Roko at their various divisions to indicate their claim as legitimate dependents.
