Managers and supervisors of Outrigger on the Lagoon · Fiji were treated to a cocktail party at the newly opened Vahavu, adult’s only swimming pool and bistro on Friday 28th June, 2013 as a gesture of gratitude for a job well done for the first 6 months of 2013.
The party marked the end of the first half of 2013 and heralded the beginning of a stronger commitment to service excellence for the remainder of the year.
Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji General Manager Peter Hopgood stated the gathering was an acknowledgment for the hard work and dedication from the managers and supervisors with the resort recording an increase in turnover in excess of 12% in the first 6 months of 2013.
He stated the resort has been consistently running with occupancies in excess of 90% since mid March and could not have catered for this high demand without the support of the team. “The best thing is that even at these high occupancies we continue to be rated as the number one large resort on Tripadvisor for guest satisfaction”, Mr. Hopgood continued.
“Our managers and supervisors are the backbone of our resort and our executive team wanted to take the time to say thank you for a job well done! We know that as a team we can only get better in the next 6 months and we plan to end 2013 with even better results”, Mr. Hopgood added.
The Outrigger vuvale (family) began 2013 on a high note with two wins at the AON Excellence in Tourism awards in February 2013 for the Best Deluxe Accommodation in Fiji for 2012, as well as the Best Fine Dining Restaurant.
In May, the Guest Services Manager Salote Bali was awarded a top Outrigger Enterprises award as a values host with the fine dining restaurant Ivi taking out the exceptional achievements team award. Tripadvisor also awarded the resort with a certificate of excellence for 2013.
