Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today assured Sigatoka farmer Mr Latchmaiya that his office would provide solutions to his ongoing land issue.
Prime Minister’s visit followed complaints by the farmers to the PM on land issues.
During the meeting Sigatoka farmer Mr Latchmaiya told the Prime Minister he had taken up the issue with relevant authorities but with no results.
“I have been paying rent for the land for the last ten years and have applied for lease but there has been no response for the authorities.”
Mr Latchmaiya said he was surprised to see the Head of Government visit him and discuss the problems.
“I had lost all hope but with Prime Minister Bainimarama’s visit I now feel that something will be done.”
