Cases of Interest 

Two Chinese nationals are currently in Police custody for failing to declare currencies at the Nadi International Airport on two different occasions.

The first incident was recorded yesterday morning when a male Chinese national residing in Sigatoka Town failed to declare foreign and Fijian currencies to the total value of more than $45,700 dollars. The suspect is currently in police custody.

The second incident also recorded yesterday morning, when a 62 year old Chinese businessman failed to declare foreign and Fijian currencies to the total value of more than $39,350.

Both suspects are in custody as investigations continue.

Rakiraki Fatal 

Police are requesting information that could help locate the vehicle involved in a fatal accident early this month.

Information given by eyewitness indicates the vehicle to be a dark blue sedan. The accident occurred on the night of 05/10/13 at around 9.42pm whereby a 35 year old farmer lost his life along Mission Hill.

The alleged vehicle was last seen heading towards Rakiraki town. Anyone with information is requested to contact 917 or Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra on 9905 663.

Ba Fatal 

The 32 year old bus driver alleged to have hit a Ba Town Council worker remains in Police custody as they await the post mortem result.

The post mortem of the deceased is expected to be conducted today.

Chinese National

A Chinese national will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court charged with failing to declare foreign and local currency to the total value of more than $45,700.

The accused was apprehended while on clearance for a flight to Korea yesterday morning. He will be produced in Court this afternoon.
