Alleged Defilement
A 24 year old man will be produced at the Nausori Magistrates Court this morning charged with allegedly defiling a Class 4 student.
The accused has been charged with 2 counts of defilement. He is alleged to have committed the crime sometime between 28 August 2013 to 29 August 2013 in Levuka.
He is alleged to have committed the act on two different occasions and threatened her not to tell anyone.
Alleged drowning
An investigation is underway following the discovery of the body of an 87 year old woman found floating in a creek yesterday.
The deceased residing at Namulomulo settlement was reported missing on 27 August 2013 after which a search party was conducted by Police with help from members of Namulomulo village however was called off at night.
The search continued the next day again with negative results. The search boundary was further extended yesterday and the team unfortunately found the deceased floating in a creek about 8km away at Wainikumi, Raviravi, Bua.
A post mortem is expected to be conducted soon as investigations continue.
