Ratu Navula retains title

The spirit of Nadi Zone was back and uplifted after defending champions, Ratu Navula College retained the Nadi Zone title with 19 Gold, 13 Silver and 14 Bronze at Prince Charles Park, yesterday.

Logistic media Officer, Nadeem Mohammed said the Nadi Zone was successful one.

“Last year we didn’t have any athletics zone because of the flood, and this year has shown a lot of progress with a large turnout from both the spectators and competitors,” he said.

Mohammed said there was tough competition from all the schools participating.

“Over the years, Ratu Navula College was always dominating, but this year, we saw competition from schools like Votualevu, Korovuto and SVC,” he said.

Aseri Navaukula of Korovuto College took out the best female athlete award, after winning 2 Gold, 1 Silver in the senior grade. While, Josevata Lalawa won the best male athlete after winning 2 Gold and 1 Bronze in the senior grade.

Meanwhile, Korovuto College came in second place with; 14 Gold, 8 Silver, 7 Bronze, Votualevu in third with; 12 Gold, 8 Silver, 13 Bronze.

In the Sub- Junior; 1 Nadi Muslim College 10 Gold, 4 Silver, 3 Bronze; 2 Swami Vivekananda College 3 Gold; Nadi International Secondary School 1 Gold, 10 Silver, 4 Bronze.
