The Fiji Police Force would like to advise the traveling public of a number of road closures expected in Nadi to accommodate the official visit by Chinese President His Excellency Xi Jinping.

1) Friday 21st November 2014, the main road from the Nadi International Airport to Denarau through Namaka and Matintar will be temporarily closed for an hour between 6-7pm.

2) The same route will be temporarily closed again on Sunday morning between 9-10am as His Excellency is expected to depart Fiji from the Nadi Airport.
Police officers will be redirecting traffic during these times and roads will reopen soon after the delegation passes through.

Members of the public are advised to take alternative routes.

There will also be an increase presence of police officers seen around the Nadi area due to security measures for the three-day State visit.

We would also like to extend our appreciation and say vinaka vakalevu for the support shown by members of the public during the official visit by the Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi yesterday.

The different phase of operation during the one day visit was conducted without incident and this was greatly due to the cooperation and patience shown by the general public.
