Special meeting for Sigatoka residents

People of Sigatoka will get a chance to share ideas and help in the development of their town in a meeting organised by the Sigatoka Town Council at the Sai Hall tomorrow (Tuesday, June 18).

Special administrator Jay Whyte who took office last week said he is happy to meet ratepayers and residents to take the town forward.

“I look forward to the meeting and I wish to hear from residents directly as to what they want their town to look like,” Mr Whyte said.

He said running a township if full of challenges and the best way to carry on is with the full support of the people.

The special meeting starts at 6pm and all stakeholders have been invited.

Meanwhile the Fijian Government is fully committed towards the development of Sigatoka which is a key tourism and agricultural contributor to the economy.

In a brief meeting with Mr Jay Whyte, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has assured government support at all levels to see the town prosper.
