The South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE) is once again organising its famous one-hour seminar conducted during lunch to be held in Suva.

The general concept of saving, budgeting and investing to meet financial goals remains on every individual’s mind but many fail to take any action. Through this seminar, the Exchange intends to disseminate sufficient information and provide contacts for the stockbrokers and the investment advisers for advice that can make people more committed to start saving and investing for their

future financial goals through looking at investment options in the stock market.

Similar to previous sessions, the program will include a brief introduction by the Exchange followed by one of the licensed broker or investment adviser representative outlining general investing tips, evaluating risks and returns and other fundamentals of share market investing.

The presentation will also have a Question and Answer session. The attendees will be given a chance to interact with the licensed stockbrokers present and even place orders to purchase shares in securities most suited to their financial objectives.

SPSE Chief Executive Officer, Ms Jinita Prasad said “Investing is about taking an active role in putting your money to work for you, rather than letting it sit in a low interest bearing deposit account. Many people who agree that shares should be part of their investment portfolio often hesitate when it comes to actually buying the shares usually because they are not sure if it is the best time to buy or the process involved”.

Ms Prasad also highlighted that your success in the share market involves the right combination of strategies and advice to ensure you participate in the market confidently and minimise your risks. The presence of stockbrokers and the investment advisers during this information session will ensure that you receive a proper advice and get access to all relevant information before buying shares.

She concluded by urging the investors who have recently received shares under the FNPF Share Investment Scheme to attend this session as they will also get a chance to interact with the stockbrokers who can help them decide whether they should hold, buy more or sell their shares.

The stipulated venue of the seminar is at the DeVos on the Park (Former JJ’s on the Park) in Suva on Thursday, 22nd August 2013 commencing at 1pm. This is a free of charge event, however registration is vital.

Registrations can be done by calling the SPSE office on 330 4130 or e-mailing your interests on info@spse.com.fj
