Tourism Fiji has announced the appointment of Carlah Walton as its new Regional Director Australia commencing 9 September, 2013.

Ms Walton brings a wealth of experience in the travel industry, having held senior positions in regional tourism, retail, wholesaling, airlines and the retail and hospitality industries.

In welcoming Ms Walton to the role, Tourism Fiji CEO, Rick Hamilton said the appointment reflected the importance of the Australian market to tourism in Fiji.

“Australia is a significant market for Fiji tourism and we are confident Carlah will assist us in continuing to drive growth and enhancing Fiji’s reputation as an ideal holiday destination with her proven track record in the industry,” Mr Hamilton said.

Earlier this year, Tourism Fiji began rolling out an exciting rebranding and repositioning of Tourism Fiji as part of a fresh and comprehensive new strategy which incorporated a new brand identity, new global marketing and social media partners and a new destination website.

Ms Walton said she is delighted to be representing Fiji and making a contribution at a very exciting time with its new marketing initiatives and branding: “Fiji – Where Happiness Finds You”.

“Fiji holds a special place in Australian hearts and is quite often the first overseas holiday many people take,” Ms Walton said. “The warmth of the people, the amazing culture and the vast array of experiences on offer make this the dream destination and one I’m very proud to represent.
