Unwired 4G to provide free Wi-Fi at Uprising 7s

Friday 18 January –Unwired 4G is pleased to provide free Wi-Fi for members of the media and the organising committee at this year’s Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament in Lautoka. Unwired 4G will provide high speed internet, allowing the media to post updates and upload photos on social media sites using their smart-phones, laptops or other Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Unwired Head of Corporate Sales Ms. Charlotte Taylor stated, “We are extremely proud to be associated with the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament and I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to the organisers for giving us the opportunity to be involved in this year’s games”.

“With the success of our Wi-Fi service at last month’s World Hockey League Round 1 tournament in Suva, we are eagerlylooking forward to providing our 4G internet service at this weekend’s Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament,” said Ms.Taylor. She added that Unwired 4G’s high-speed internet would allow users to be ‘connected’ even though they would be at the stadium watching the games. Ms Taylor said that one of the biggest advantagesof Wi-Fi was that it allowed for a deployment of wireless networks in places where this could not have been done before, such as sporting events or places where cables cannot be run.

“Over the past decade, Wi-Fi has become a ubiquitous part of our lives, it is no surprise then that we are providing it at this exciting event,” she added.

“Unwired 4G is all about making what was once aspirational a reality for sporting organisations, fans and the sport itself – the provision of Wi-Fi at the Uprising Fiji International 7s will take the event to a whole new level,” she added.

“We are indeed looking forward to our continued partnership in future. Sevens Rugby is without a doubt Fiji’s most popular sport and we are proud to assist with its development,” said Ms.Taylor.

Unwired 4G was among the first Internet Service Providers (ISP) to offer in-venue Wi-Fi to fans to connect to the Internet.
