Vodafone assists Spinal Injury Association

The Spinal Injury Association (SIA) was blessed yesterday with the timely and generous donation made by the Physio Net and Vodafone ATH Foundation. The handover happened at the Fiji Vocational Training Centre Hall, FNCDP Complex in Suva.

Vodafone ATH Foundation was present in handing over millions of dollars worth of assistive devices to the Spinal Injury Association in the presence of British High Commissioner, the representative of Pysio Net, UK.

Physio Net is a charitable organization that has been continuously been supporting the SIA and is the largest in-kind donor since 2010 in providing mobility, assistive and Physio equipment’s for persons with disabilities through the SIA.
Vodafone ATH Foundation and Physio Net were acknowledged yesterday for their commitment and continued support for the Association.  Pysio Net’s generous donation saw the arrival of many assistive devices for the disabled person in the community.  The Foundation’s in the  shipping and cartage costs and other administrative cost that made the hand over of this equipment possible to the Spinal Injuries Association and Fiji Disabled Persons’ Association . The executive officer for SIA and WoD Difference candidate, Mr. Joshko Wakaniyasi said that Vodafone ATH Foundation has always assisted in caring for the disabled persons in Fiji and the partnership with Physio Net has enabled fourth consignment of multiple mobility and physio equipment together with assistive and special needs devices worth $1.2 million to arrive into the country”.
Joshko, who is a WoD candidate for the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation has made  a real differences in lives of many through the WoD Programmes. He developed the mAbility channel which is currently reaching 3270 people on daily basis. mAbility *912# channel seeks to send health and wellness tips to people with different abilities. The mAbility registration channel is now allowing people to register their disability needs and support equipment they may need by free dialing *912# and choosing option 2 for Vodafone mAbility registration.
