Fiji Roads Authority wishes to advise travelers along Delaikoro road in Labasa that the Vuinadrodro Bridge will undergo urgent structural repairs from the coming week for a month from the 13th of October to 13th November. During this period the bridge will be closed to all vehicles, however arrangements are in place with the local bus company servicing the area to station buses at both ends of the bridge.

The areas affected include Dodotabua, Dogoru, Nasaqa, Nasealevu, Nabekavu, Navisei, Nalemo, Savusavunitaqa and Wakanilato.

Leading up to the bridge closure, advisory signs were posted onsite to inform travellers in the area of the upcoming closure. FRA Maintenance Works Manager, Dale Nicholls said “While the situation may not be ideal for travellers, it is important now that our crews carry out repairs to the Vuinadrodro Bridge. Following inspections by structural Engineers, the bridge was deemed no longer safe for larger vehicles, especially buses and trucks to travel over, and as it is on a bus route we are prioritising its repair.”

Fulton Hogan Hiways Joint Venture will be carrying out this work starting on Monday next week.
