Public advisory

Fiji Roads Authority advises that a detour will be in place for 48 hours weather permitting, beginning 7am Saturday 06th December 2014 to allow FRA Contractor, China Railway First Group to carry out structural repairs to the Waibunabuna Bridge on the Nabouwalu highway in Vanua Levu.

The closure is in place to allow our crews on ground to carry out much the needed maintenance work and will include replacement of the bridge cross beam. We understand the importance of keeping the road open to the public and confirm that a detour will be in place during the closure and   flagmen will be distributed along the detour to control traffic.

Prior to this closure, maintenance work has been carried out on the detour route and sign boards will be placed onsite as required to advise motorists of the approaching detour.

The Fiji Roads Authority advises that the bridge will re-open at 8am on Monday 08th December and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
